"Marcy is a wonderful architect with an attention for detail, design and energy efficiency. She possesses excellent communication skills with her clients and a warm and personal style. We sincerely enjoyed working with her on (2 projects) and would readily work with her again."
- Client for Residential Remodels
-
"Once we decided to build a new home, away from home, we knew from the beginning that it would have to be something different, on a low budget. Marcy took the challenge and delivered. As the pandemic hit the project, she dealt with the problems along the way and was a thoughtful and efficient intermediary with the contractor. With her knowledge, connections in the profession, and care for details, she created a great retreat beyond our expectations."

As a youth, she avidly created art and aspired to be an architect.
She attended the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture, where she took a particular interest in history and climate responses in architecture, modern design within urban fabric, studied a semester in Rome, and graduated summa cum laude.
After graduating in 2001, she joined James Dayton Design, built a 4’ x 8’ model of the Weisman Art Museum for Frank O Gehry and Associates’ future addition, designed adaptive reuse housing, and served as the Project Designer of MacPhail Center for Music.
She led workplace tenant projects at SmithGroup and became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2008.

She became a CPHD in 2021.
In 2024, she founded Yarrow Architecture and eagerly applied the leadership she had exercised at her previous firms to this new venture.
She has also volunteered time in the community, such as: Hurricane Katrina rebuilding, non-profit committees for developing affordable housing initiatives, and she currently supports the nonprofit Passive House Minnesota as Internal Coordinator.
She has presented lectures and participated in panels at the AIA Minnesota Conventions, Construction Specification Institute, and for multiple non-profit organizations.
